Alma
My very good friend Rodrigo Blaas is not only one of the top animators here at Pixar, he’s also an amazing director! Here’s his blog with a teaser for his beautiful short “Alma”. I hope you get a chance to see this short on the festival circuit and maybe soon on the itunes store too!

I can’t wait to see it! Wonderful character designs.
Why don’t we see “official” Pixar short films that can be described as “wonderfully creepy”? “Geri’s Game” had a nice edge to it, but since then the shorts seem to be getting more and more syrupy saccharine sweet, cliche, and predictable.

Just saw this at Siggraph and, for me, it stole the show. Ace character and production design and animation. And the story was perfect. Music as well…..Unnngghh I need a copy!
