Wow, hard to believe the year is all done, gone, over. So there you have it last post of the 2008. For the occasion I’ll share a little photo gallery, all iphone photos taken in the last few days with this really neat app that turns your iphone into a toy camera. Highly recommended, it [...]

Here’s one more watercolor for the upcoming show. For some reason I’ve been fascinated with Foxes lately, there’s quite a few of them appearing through out the pieces I did. Japanese Folklore has really a lot of great stories featuring Foxes and their tricks. Would love to make a comic of one of ‘em when [...]
I am almost on the home stretch on these watercolors for the upcoming exhibition in Paris. Here’s a few recent iphone shots from my kitchen table, the last few pieces. By the way while in France Ronnie I will also be attending Angouleme’s Festival International de la Bande Desinée. We’re really looking forward to meeting [...]

Here’s three finished watercolors, going to France soon, for the exhibit at Galerie Arludik. They are titled respectively: “With the Fox”, “With the Tanuki” and “With the Kappa”. They’ll go on sale at Arludik on January 27 together with amazing works from Tadahiro Uesugi and Ronnie del Carmen. We’ll be there too at the opening.
There’s a really nice review of the Venice Chronicles at ComicRelated.com written by Katie Riley. Direct link here. Sweet! And there’s a few new reviews on the VC amazon page too, thanks to all of you for supporting this book!
Here’s another watercolor I am working on … I like how the skin tone and red cheeks are turning out in this one.
Here’s another watercolor for the artshow in January. For these pieces I’ve been using several washes one of top of the other, gradually building contrast with darker more saturated colors.
“Yuppi!” means “Yay!” in italian … strange word … but anyway the reason for my joy is that I just received in the mail Gipi’s latest book: “La mia vita disegnata male“!!! I read it last night from front to back and I was just blown away, what an amazing read! He weaves very personal [...]
