Ashes of time redux

Ohhhh I just noticed Wong Kar Wai just made a sequel to Ashes of time!! (Correction, this is actually a re-edited movie of the original) Here’s the trailer, pretty exciting! It’s getting a good buzz, judging from the magazine Film Comment.

    Actually, it’s not a sequel (or a remake, what some people might think), it’s a redone version of the film (and totally deserved, the first version was in a crappy condition). It screened at Cannes back in May and is highly recommended to see for anyone!

    ah thanks for the correction Peter, that explains why so many of the shots felt familiar … ;)
    cool … still looking forward to it … I haven’t seen Ashes of time in quite a few years …

    Yepz, definitely cut from the original. Most of the actors featured in the trailer have retired, and one of them has passed away a few years ago.

    Great movie though! Sure wish he’ll make something similar…..
