Ronald Searle

Fantastic post on Drawn.ca regarding Ronald Searle and his process. His Paris Sketchbook has been on my bedside table for the past 2 years. I love to paging through that book. I’ve been wanting to make a somewhat similar book out of my last trip to Japan for years now. Sooner or later hopefully I’ll get to it. Here’s a Searle illustration from another great book of his “Haven’t we met before somewhere?”.

    If I am well informed, you will come to Paris in the following months for your own exhibition with Ronnie and Tadahiro. A perfect opportunity to visit Ronald Searle’s gallery, a few block near the orsay museum : http://www.galerie-martine-gossieaux.com/searle_index.html
    Having him as a contributor for “Sketchtravel” would be awesome, isn’t it ? ;-)

    And thank you for the suggestion, I totally think we need to go to this gallery!!! Never seen a Searle original …
