Miyazaki’s movie making

Don’t miss this fantastic post at GhibliWorld.com, it’s retelling parts of the japanese TV program “Professional” that followed Miyazaki’s during the making of Ponyo. It’s a wonderful peak at his process and it shows how finding that movie is not always an easy thing. I especially love the description of the way he starts developing a movie, which is by just painting imageboards of what he’d love to see in a story, from those images ideas slowly start forming in his head. Such a fluid way of going. There’s some interesting details about Miyazaki San’s beginnings in animation as well. Enjoy.
