morning walks

We are getting into the habit of taking a nice morning walk on weekend mornings, Fio and I. We go out around eight, she falls asleep in the baby carrier on my chest and I get a nice soy latte. We end up sitting at a small park in Cole Valley, I read a book while she snoozes. After a couple of hours we come back home to my thankful wife, who I assure you can sure use such a break to catch up on a little bit of sleep. I’ve never been a morning person but this new life is pretty much turning me into one and I am finding that I really love the quiet peaceful atmosphere of weekend mornings. A lot of parents out there in the early hours … with sleepy eyes and knowing smiles for each other.

On my morning walk in downtown Rome, Sunday, I spotted this sight and thought of you. The creature does get about, doesn’t it? Via del Gesù.

I know! Aren’t those baby carriers a life saver? (Saved my life from my wife on a number of occasions already.)
