Ok, just went to the lunch gesture drawing class, hit a so-so day, only like bits and pieces of these studies. I also got a chance to scan the SketchCrawl watercolors from saturday, so you can now see decent versions of those: here, here and here.

Great work as Always… I have only taken one real figure drawing class and my professor really didn’t stress gesture drawing enough. One of the downfalls of not attending art school, I guess.
I have a question regarding your watercolors — I love the way you’re able to recall miyazaki’s essence in a ton of your work. But as for the sketches, do you usually splash on the color and then add the pencil? vice versa? different every time? I’m so hesitant in an artist that I guess I like to know other peoples’ methods before I try and find my own groove.

I saw on LitPark that Ratatouille got a nomination as best animated for the oscars! Congratulations!

Diego- I draw the whole page first in pencil … then watercolor … I am not very good with the other way around … I am not really a painter … more of a drawer I guess …
Nathalie- thanks, yes Ratatouille got 5 nominations I think … pretty neat.
