Mamma Aiuto

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Wow, I just found this old file of some fan art I did of Porco Rosso’s pirates “Mamma Aiuto”. A blast from the past, this drawing is more than 10 years old! I used to do these in pencil, ink them , scan them and then color in Photoshop. It’s kind of how I got [...]

New Kinokuniya SF

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

The Kinokuniya bookstore in San Francisco’s Japantown has been
renovated and has now a lot more space inside the mall. I stopped by
Monday night before seeing the movie at the Kabuki and was throughly
impressed with the new diggs, so much I couldn’t help but buy three
books, which I’ll tell you about soon.

The Darjeeling Limited

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

New page of Haiku

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Just finished page 25 of Haiku 5-7-5, you’ll find it here. A few years ago several artists did some awesome renditions of these gangsters. I’d love to reopen the invitation to draw any of these characters, only if you feel inspired to of course. I’d certainly be very thankful and happy to add them to [...]

SketchTravel update

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

The traveling sketchbook has seen some amazing additions as of late from artists of the caliber of Scott Campbell, Dominique Louis and Erik Tiemens (the painting below is his). This past weekend Dice handed off the book to James Jean who’s next in line to work on the book, here’s an amusing video of their [...]

When the fall comes clouds get really beautiful around San Francisco.
