Yakuza Moon
Here’s the first book I got at Kinokiniya the other night: Yakuza moon by Shoko Tendo, memoirs of a gangster’s daughter. Which is proving to be, as you can imagine, an inspiring read for me. I am really trying to immerse myself in this world. I am a third through and I’m hooked. Real life retelling like these are so fascinating to me, sometimes more than fictional ones. First strange coincidence that surprised me in the book is that Shoko’s father is a gifted Haiku poet. Incidentally reading this other book (plus watching a lot of japanese gangster movies) is what got the haiku 5-7-5 idea started a few years back.
