Almost done

Wow, I just finished writing and drawing the last pages of the Venice Chronicles yesterday. I am watercoloring away, should be done in the next day or two. It feels very satisfying to arrive at the finish line on such a long project, almost one year in the making.

And you do plan to publish this, right? Lovely, expressive drawings.

  3. Donal Says:

How big are the actual pages you’re drawing, or rather how big is that sketchbook?

  4. Enrico Says:

    Samacleod- thanks!

Mike- Yes, indeed. Me or an actual publisher …

Donal – the pages are 6.25″ x 8.25′ … I draw them all in the “Fabriano Classic Artist’s Journal”, the one with a blue cover and mixed white/sepia pages.

How do the pages take ink, and watercolors?

I’m always on the lookout for a new sketchbook, especially something of a managable size for sketchcrawls. I’ve found a decent watercolor moleskin at my wife’s bookstore, but it’s a flip up/cinema format and it tends to get annoying having to flip it around to look through whenever there’s a vertical sketch.

I hope you don’t mind me asking.

As far as watercolor and pencil … “mostly well” … as far as ink goes … I haven’t done a whole lot of experimentation with … so I am not sure.

These are certainly fun sketchbooks to try one way or the other … the number of pages is one of the selling points to me too … lot’s of ‘em … I like these sketchbook’s chunkiness …

You’ll find some details here too:

And yes I have the same moleskine … it’s nice, a needed addition to their line up … but for some reason I haven’t got too much out of it yet … might be the lower page count on it, makes me feel the pages are too precious …

    anyway …
    happy 4th of July !
