Saturday May 19th it’s the 14th World Wide SketchCrawl and as you might have heard we are making it a world wide fundraiser.
Sunday May 20th we are organizing with our Maverix Studios friends a benefit Art Auction here in San Francisco.
All the funds we raise will benefit the humanitarian Organization Emergency - life support for civilian war victims.
Emergency builds quality care and hospitals to treat civilians in war-thorn countries.
It’s a wonderful wonderful organization that has been doing amazing humanitarian projects in places such as Afghanistan, Cambodia, Sudan, Sierra Leone and Iraq. The more I hear of what they’ve been doing the more I am excited about helping them.
Please watch this video to get a more detailed idea of what Emergency does.
We want to help this worthy cause and we thought we’d come together as a global drawing community to raise awareness and money for it! I hope that you all will want to join us! Let me give you some details on the weekend.
The SketchCrawl part of the fundraiser. Sat 19th
We are asking to each one of you around the world who would like to participate to the SketchCrawl to raise $100 in donations. And to do so, most of us will need some sponsors. So here is a sponsor form for download. The idea is to get a few friends, colleagues or family members to sponsor your sketchcrawl by making a check to Emergency. Then you can mail directly all the checks you have gathered and your sponsor form to Emergency. The donators will get a write off if in the US or Italy.
Not into drawing? You can help sponsor a SketchCrawler or even just simply donate online with Paypal.
Several groups are starting to get organized on the forums. Come around and take a look and let us know where you’ll be crawling! Ronnie del Carmen and I will be meeting artists in San Francisco, at the Ferry Building at 11:00am (in front of Peet’s coffee).
