Today’s gesture session
Guest starring an illustrious friend and co-worker, Bolhem Bouchiba. The last drawing down below, the amazing one that makes the others look bad, it’s his. While the second to last is my drawing of him drawing and the third to last is my drawing of me standing … yes, it is.

Wow these are amazing! I especially love the ones on the bottom. I am really jealous that you get the chance to draw clothed models, the only time I got to do that is when a model didn’t show and we had to draw the other classmates. I really enjoyed it! I always look forward to your life drawing posts.

Your gestures are terrific, just a different style. There’s something about Bolhem’s drawing, though. It looks like it could’ve been drawn by one of the great master painters, with just a little added funny/cartoonyness. Terrific sense of weight and mass in the drawing. Like that flattening of the hip on the box. Wonderful touch. And terrific poses!

Lauren- especially for gesture I really don’t like a nude model for … it’s so much more fun to have clothes on to play with. Often I just make them up or just draw the model inbetween poses, that’s a good way to go about it too …
Lee-Roy- Indeed … Bolhem is a master animator … his drawings have incredible power …
