Flickr groups like this are such great inspiration. They sure make me want to draw planes and where there’s planes there’s Mia. Gotta get back to her adventures … one of these days.

Oh yeah, you absolutely HAVE to get back to Mia, that really is one of my favourites, Enrico! I keep meaning to ask you when you’re gonna bring out a new Mia and I guess this answers it, not for a while it seems. Mia is just good, fun beautifully drawn comics, with a great story. So yeah, PLEASE get back to it! Mia actually inspired me somewhat to just go ahead and work on my own comic, which also features animal characters (along with humans as well).
Take care

Amazing isn’t it - beautifully shaped lumps of metal; make them go fast enough and they can transcend gravity.
Hmmmm. Maybe there needs to be a flickr pool for people who like to draw planes - like Enrico and me and ……. anyone else?
For fun - people may also enjoy the work of Tullio Crali the Italian Futurist painter.

Dude,
What about Haiku? We need more Haiku for the edging side of the street. Of course, I am also eagering awaiting Mia 3.

PS. If you are coming to WonderCon, please bring copies of Sketchcrawl #2. Meez need my copy. It would be good to see you again.

Kevin- thanks for the kind words man, I think in some way these autobiographical comics I’ve been doing these last couple of years are a doorway to something … and that something feels like it might be a looser and more straight on way of drawing Mia … we’ll see if that materializes … starting to do some tests …
Pascal - that looks neat! The cheesy music is the only thing that keeps me from buying the DVD … wonder if netflix has it, I’d love to take a look at it. Have you seen the whole movie?
Douglas, Joanna - Thanks!
Mike Marinos - not a bad idea … drawplanesflickrclub! Tullio Crali ? Didn’t know of him … gonna look him up.
cK- Ah, Haiku would be fun to get back into as well … dang, too many things !!! The problem with Haiku is that it’s more computer based work … and it’s easier for me (at least lately) to do pencil and watercolor pages.
I think that is given by the fact that I draw all day on photoshop here at Pixar, so I need the break from it … thus the pencil and watercolor (which you can do in a cafe or anywhere you want!).
But we’ll see, maybe I just need to switch the style a bit, and be able to draw it on paper.
Anyway … as far as Wondercon … are you going tomorrow or sunday ? Not quite sure which day to go yet … but I’ll bring a couple of copies of SketchCrawling 2 for ya … worse case scenario Stuart has some too …
Ok, later !!

Hey Enrico,
I am planning to go on Sat. It is more crowded today than Sunday but there is the Ratouillle (sp) panel that is happening today. Also, I am checking out the French Wine Society event in Fort Mason on Sunday. (I have to taste those Burgundy and Bordeuex) It would be great to see you as well as guys like Jamie Baker in the annuaul trek called Wondercon.
