From the sinking city

Just a few photos … I’ve been taking so many here and also drawing quite a bit … there might be a new unabashed comic in the making … what a great city. Every corner needs a whole day of drawing …

Bona notte, Enrico! Did you have a chance, to take a picture of the firemen, too? If you have a chance to meet or visit them: they are very nice and cool!! You could even jump on their boats - about 10 mph fast … ;-)

I agree! They say you either love or hate Venice. I lived there almost six years and I so miss it!! Welcome back!

Would love to see your drawings of Venice!!

A melancolic view of the city… looking forward to see the sketches.

I had the worst spaghetti I ever ate and the most expensive cup of coffee I ever drank right there! but even so how could anyone dislike the city? It’s a great place.

I’m so envious of you…I wish I could be there. I remember going to the Murano glass studio, and really enjoyed it. Are you planning on doing any sketches of the pigeons that hang around one Piazza San Marco?

  7. Lee-Roy Says:

Is that rain in the first one?

Hey, I’m just a touch envious. Enjoy yourself! :)

  8. Enrico Says:

Thorsten- I think I missed out on the firemen … ;)

Aoi- Ah wow you lived there ? Cool, were you studying there? The city is filled with tourists on one side and students on the other …

Alina, Laurent b - will post asap !

Jamie- eh eh, sorry u had such a bad coffee and food experience in Venice, it is important to keep away from the touristy side of the city to avoid that …

Stephanie- I kind of stayed away from San Marco when drawing, too crowded … but I sketched around other areas …

    Lee-Roy - Rain indeed, buckets …

Yep, I was the student/working force of Venice ^_^ I saw it crowded with tourists (summers and Carnival seasons) and almost empty during Winters. After all the city lives on tourism, though the few Venetians might like it or not…
