Okay, that does look just awesome. Where’s that last shot supposed to be, anyway? The empire state building pre-spire? (I vaguely remember something about how they lifted it up through the building at the last minute to win the “highest building title.”)
Hello! Do you have any advice for someone like me trying to go into animation school.
Its at an art institute. I know I should study hard in school but what should I pay attention to most in animation?
Max- the Empire State building looks cheated much higher than it would probably be … but it’s darn sweet isn’t it ?
Did you notice the cutting of the airplane getting smashed ? Brilliant … it’s 3 shots ! He split it in 3 different shot … makes it really great … and it makes you feel as if he had coverage … as if it’s a real shot filmed by 3 cameras ….
Daniel and Bannister- doh, sorry guys … that’s strange, any luck since ?
Whitney- well that’s tough question to answer in a few words … just draw and look around you as much as you can and study the movies you love. Look at the animation, freeze frame it … look at the shots they choose … and I bet slowly you’ll find inside you what really interests you in Animation … you have to find out what you really like … and what makes you happy to be working on ..
good luck
I always have a dread of these things being attempted, especially Kong, since it’s so a part of it’s time.
It’s nice of Jackson to restore and release the original in a few weeks…certainly his heart is in the right place.
Joe De Vito’s “King of Skull Island” from Dark Horse last year caught the feeling also.

In the words of Jack Black:
“It’s just gonna be soooo awesome.”
